Hyphen Publications is the publication wing of The Hyphen Foundation, an apolitical non-profitmaking, charitable, philanthropic and purely academic and literary organization for the cause / support / promotion / welfare of the creative, literary and humanizing arts and the artists. The objectives of the foundation include -

1. Promotion of literature, art and culture - promotion of studies / research in the Humanities i.e. all Languages, literature, Translation Studies, Comparative Literature, Philosophy, Cultural Studies and the Arts across the Continents
2. Promotion of Inter-disciplinary / Multicultural Studies in Humanities and Arts along with Sciences and Social Sciences
3. Promotion of talented writers and artists by publishing their works
4. undertaking co-publishing ventures on purely contributory / self-funding / no-profit-no-loss basis, with due cooperation and contribution from the writers / artists
5. Helping the needy / poor but meritorious students by way of stipends, scholarships or donations of books / study material to undertake / pursue their studies in the field of Humanities.

Hyphen Publications publishes a biannual journal entitled Hyphen (ISSN 0975 2897), which is An International Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature, Art & Culture. It also brings out a supplement in Hindi as well.
